Spring 2012 Rush!

An opportunity to hang out and get to know the Zeta Psi sisters, rush week kicked off this year with Spaghetti & Game night. We played game like Apples to Apples and Clue and ate delicious pasta! Wednesday night we met up at the frozen yogurt place on campus before heading to the men’s basketball game. The sisters watched as players won one of the biggest games of the year against Memphis. Thursday night we met up with the brothers of KKΨ for a fun night of bowling and bonding. Saturday was our Service Day, and the sisters and rushes organized the Jammin’ Knights music folders and straightened up the uniforms at the Rehearsal Hall. We ended the day by having a picnic out by the band trailer. We ended our 2012 rush week with Formal, enjoying time to get to catch up with everyone.

The sisters are very excited for the rest of the semester, and are excited to be hosting SED 2012!!

Zeta Psi/Eta Sigma Unity Week Fall ’11

Each semester, Zeta Psi and our Kappa Kappa Psi chapter Eta Sigma hold a unity week with the help of our Social Chairs from each chapter. This week was unity week for KKPsi and TBS at UCF!
The week began on Monday with the kick off of Scavenger Hunt. 2 groups were formed with a combo of brothers and sisters in each and each was given list of fun activities to get pictures of them doing-such as wearing UCF gear on another college campus, or seeing how many brothers and sisters could fit in a single car. The Scavenger Hunt is a week long activity and both teams are doing a great job.
Tuesday was the KKPsi/TBS Cook-Off! The brothers and sisters split into 2 groups and headed to 2 houses that belonged to a few of the brothers. Each team was expected to make dishes with the “secret ingredient” of chocolate. Both teams did a great job at cook-off and it ended in a tie.
Wednesday was jersey day at Marching Knights rehearsal. Both KKPsi and TBS wore their white and blue (ahem, or blue and white..) jerseys to rehearsal and repped our letters proudly!
Thursday of Unity Week consisted of a joint fundraiser at iKiwi, our frozen yogurt store here near UCF. Flyers were given out at Marching Knights rehearsal on Wednesday and whoever bought frozen yogurt at iKiwi Thursday night with one of our flyers had some of their proceeds donated to us. Our fundraiser was a great success and will go directly to SED funding!
Tomorrow is Friday and UCF doesn’t have any school for Veteran’s Day. The brothers and sisters are canoeing at Wekiva Springs for a great day of bonding! It should be a really fun day.
Sunday is the end of our Unity Week, and will consist of a joint brunch in the late morning. That evening, Eta Sigma is holding their Fall ’11 recital, which will be a great event to end Unity Week!

Fall 2011!

It’s been a great semester so far for Zeta Psi! Our MC class, Theta Omega Pi, is doing a great job on their tests and learning the ways of the sisterhood! With their final quickly approaching, the MC’s are studying hard! This semester, the sisters of Zeta Psi have been busy at work washing Marching Knights uniforms, sewing, and making sure the band is ready for each game day. The concert band season has been busy as well and the sisters are excited to see what the rest of the semester holds for all the music programs at UCF. With one more home game left for UCF this season and a trip to FMBC for the Marching Knights, the sisters will stay busy for the rest of the semester. Meanwhile, our SED convention chair Erinn has been carefully planning the beginning steps of hosting the Southeast District Convention here at UCF in March 2012. With the semester coming to a close, the sisters are excited to see what Spring 2012 will bring to Zeta Psi.

Welcome to the Sisterhood, Delta Sigma Chi

On April 8th, our Spring 2011 MC class became sisters!
Congratulations and welcome to Jess Terrell, Jacynth Malcolm, Julie Senecal, Sierra Motley, Lindsay Ambler, Andrew Inman and Amanda Simon!
We are so happy to have them with us and are excited to watch them continue to grow in the bond!

Delta Sigma Chi!

The sisters of Zeta Psi are super excited about our MC class of 7 amazing students (Jess Terrell, Andrew Inman, Amanda Simon, Sierra Motley, Julie Senecal, Jacynth Malcolm and Lindsay Ambler).

Delta Sigma Chi is our first spring class  here at UCF in 3 years! They are all progressing very well and are quickly learning the ways of sisterhood. We cannot wait for them to become sisters in the bond!

An exciting beginning to 2011!!!

It’s the end of January and the spring semester is in full swing! The Sisters of Zeta Psi are super excited that rush is going successfully. We’ve had a few events and a very good showing of interest so far. We’re hoping to have a spring membership class for the first time since 2007! Bowling Knight with our wonderful Brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi is tonight and we’re very excited for one of the best events of rush!

UCF athletics hit their stride in the fall, with a Liberty Bowl win for the football team against a ranked opponent. We beat Georgia 10-6 for our very first bowl win! Our basketball team had a wonderful start to their season with fourteen consecutive wins against non-conference teams. We beat Florida, Miami and USF to become ranked. Now that conference play has begun, however, the Knights are having trouble staying on top. Here’s to hoping that the Jammin’ Knights can help them secure more wins!

The fall ’10 class of Zeta Mu Beta is having a great time and assimilating well into the Sisterhood. They’re looking forward to experiencing all the things that make being a Sister so much fun. :)
